1. Dual system of law in PNG. Papua New Guinea currently has a system of law that is often referred to as a dual system of law. We say that to mean that PNG has a dual court system made up of a formal court system and a customary court system, which is recognized and established by the government, because many villages in PNG still maintain traditional dispute-management agencies.
